Jack & Miranda
Tofino, Canada
I attended this wedding not as the photographer, but as a guest — with a £60 disposable lens (Pocket Dispo) on my camera and no expectations other than to experiment and have fun without the constraints of having to produce perfect images.
The day unfolded on Vargas Island, a remote stretch of rainforest off the rugged west coast of Tofino, Canada. Grey skies and steady rain wrapped the island in mist, turning the towering trees and wild shoreline into something timeless and cinematic.
The imperfect lens created an old-school film look that felt perfectly at home in the rainforest — soft edges, unexpected flares, and moments that felt more like memories than photographs. It was a reminder that beauty doesn’t always come from perfect light or perfect conditions, but from atmosphere, emotion, and the freedom to see differently.
Jack was a buddy of mine from my time living in this special place. He decided to stay and met his wife to be, Miranda. I left Tofino with the aim to recreate the same lifestyle back home in the UK, with North Devon being as close as we could find to what I can only describe as the best place on earth. They are both truly blessed to be able to call Tofino home and to have shared their wedding day with each other and all the amazing people we met.
Love you both xx
