The Arches, Combe Martin
Sara & Alex gathered all their closest friends and family to celebrate their wedding day one sunny June in North Devon. You’re always guaranteed a picturesque backdrop with the Arches wedding venue in Combe Martin. Sea, sky and rolling green hills, the perfect slice of paradise tucked away and only a few hours for many of the wedding guests based in Bristol.
The intimate wedding venue is a joy to photograph, adorned with floral walls, vibrant interiors and the iconic ‘arches’ out to sea- Sara & Alex said their ‘I do’s’ in one of the loveliest ceremonies I have witnessed!
I moved around the space working all the angles, capturing the moments that would go by so quickly for them, it’s these memories that make wedding photography so special, by telling the story of their wedding so they will remember it forever. From the first kiss to the first dance, I document what unfolds before me, with Sara & Alex, it was pure love and laughter all day long!
The secluded beach in front of the Arches is ideal for group photos, getting everyone they love in one frame, and of course it makes for dreamy bride and groom portraits, playing with the natural landscape, contrasting textures with Sara’s dress and using colour to make the wedding couple pop against the backdrop, this has to be my favourite part of being a wedding photographer.
Then it was back to decked out village hall for the wedding reception. Flowers and bunting galore, a proper Devon style garden party, with so much genuine love and laughter, from speeches to the dance floor filling up, it really was a pleasure to photograph.
